Jean-Claude Lavorel Foundation: A Long-Term Commitment to Childhood and the Fight Against Cancer

On 10 June 2025 in Lyon, Jean-Claude Lavorel, Chairman and CEO of the Lavorel Hotels Group, announced the creation of the Jean-Claude Lavorel Foundation. This personal project reflects a strong desire to actively contribute to society, with a clear focus on two fundamental priorities: supporting the fight against cancer and protecting children.

Having already been committed for several years through initiatives led by Lavorel Hotels, Jean-Claude Lavorel is now taking things a step further. The foundation is intended to provide a long-lasting and more visible structure for responsible, humane, and truly valuable initiatives.

Two Key Causes at the Heart of This Commitment

The Jean-Claude Lavorel Foundation focuses its work on two major causes, chosen for their social importance and direct impact on affected communities:

• Cancer: supporting scientific research, improving prevention efforts, and offering better care for patients and their families.
• Children: assisting children in precarious or vulnerable situations by working in partnership with specialised organisations.

Concrete Projects Already Underway

The foundation builds on existing commitments within the Lavorel Hotels Group, aiming to sustain and strengthen them. Several partnerships exemplify this ambition:

• Centre Léon Bérard: hosting a charity dinner to support cancer research and improve patient care.
• Ma Chance Moi Aussi: welcoming events designed for underprivileged children, to create moments of escape and shared joy.
• Noël Ensemble: co-organising a festive Christmas Eve celebration each year for isolated elderly people.
• 2500 Voix: supporting the fight against childhood cancers, notably through charity galas raising funds for research.
• SapoCycle: partnering with this programme that recycles hotel soaps into hygiene products for people in need.

These efforts are complemented by one-off initiatives supporting well-known associations such as Handicap International, L’Enfant Bleu, Wine Charity Event, and Café Joyeux, a social enterprise promoting inclusive employment in Lyon.
